And now it comes down
to the amber light
Slipping through the cracks
in my bedroom curtain
The weight of the warm
heavy blanket
Resting on my legs,
tucked around my belly
The heat of sweet
dark coffee
Sticking to my lips
Pooling in my chest
You and I, we notice
He said to me
I wonder if he notices
how alone we truly are
