How strange is this water?
I can’t see the bottom of it
but the bottom can see me
Light distorts beneath its cold surface
Below that waving scalp
Swallowed ships and drowned lives rest
whilst afloat Mavericks continue
to challenge those murky depths
How strange is this water?
Its depths give me anxiety, a lack of sobriety
As to how far I’d have to sink
until I’ve truly sunken
